I recently had a repair done on my Samsung electrical clothes dryer by RPS Appliance Repair, with service technician Cameron handling the job. While Cameron was polite and informative throughout the repair process, I had mixed feelings about the overall experience. Cameron was efficient in diagnosing the root cause of the heating element failure and replacing the necessary part in a timely manner. However, I was taken aback by the total cost of the repair, which amounted to $562.00, with $232.00 of that being attributed to a flat labor rate. Although I was aware of the $129.00 diagnostic test fee, I was not informed upfront about the high flat labor cost. In hindsight, I realized that the total repair cost was higher than I had initially anticipated, and I questioned whether it would have been more cost-effective to purchase a new clothes dryer instead. While I appreciate the prompt service and repair work done by Cameron, I feel that the clarity and transparency regarding pricing could have been improved. The unexpected flat labor cost left me feeling somewhat disappointed and unsure about the overall value of the repair. In the future, I would appreciate more upfront communication about all associated costs to avoid any surprises. Despite this, I acknowledge that these decisions are part of the adulting process and the challenges we face in maintaining our appliances. The aforementioned comments, regarding there be some repair costs surprising at my end had absolutely nothing to do with Cameron's appliance repair performance whatsoever, as he did his job exceptionally well, and in a very professional manner, and he was also very personable to interact with.
