Common problems

Problems we diagnose and repair.

Dishwashers depend on correct water supply, circulation, filtration, drainage, heat, detergent, and loading conditions. A useful diagnosis considers the machine and the installation so the recommendation addresses the actual problem.

  • Dishes remain dirty, gritty, cloudy, or wet
  • Water remains in the tub after the cycle
  • Dishwasher will not fill or start
  • Water leaks from the door or underneath
  • Unusual grinding, humming, or rattling noise
  • Door, latch, display, or controls are not working

Helpful answers

Dishwasher repair questions.

Why is there water in the bottom of my dishwasher?

A blocked filter or drain path, pump issue, hose condition, disposer connection, or control problem may prevent complete draining.

Why are dishes not getting clean?

Water temperature, spray circulation, filtration, detergent, loading, and component failures can all affect cleaning. A cycle test helps isolate the cause.

What should I do if the dishwasher is leaking?

Stop the cycle and shut off the appliance water supply if the leak continues. Avoid running it again until the leak source is identified.
